Substitute all purpose self rising flour in a recipe that calls for all purpose flour, salt and baking soda?

I have a recipe for pancakes that calls for all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. I only have self rising flour, no baking soda. Can I substitute this or will it make dense, nasty pancakes?

Yes, substitute the self-rising flour, but leave out both the baking soda and salt as they are already included in the self-rising flour. I do this regularly and it usually works quite well. I don't recommend it in cake or cookie recipes as these have to be precise, but for most other breads it works.

All these steps will lead you to a cause that, you think, needs to be changed and you can put all your efforts and enthusiasm to make it happen. This is where your life purpose lies.

Above all you need to define your life purpose in a punch line. Keep revising this line of and on just to refine your life purpose and keep your attentions and efforts focused towards your life purpose.

Keep revising your passions, missions, causes and strengths if the earlier ones are not working right. Let this phenomenon of refining take a long time but you are putting your right step in the right direction. You just need to be alert to identify the clues and accordingly keep refining your, passions, strengths, and causes.
