We used a steam cleaner on the grout between our tiles and now the black mould is growing like mad, why?

The portion of the tiles near the shower area are growing horrible black mildew (or mould) on the grout. We decided to steam in clean but for some reason it has come back with a vengence. It had taken 5 years to get to the first stage and now 2 weeks to get to the second really bad stage. Don't know why?

Beacuse the black mold that you see on the survice is like an Iceburg....The major amount is enbeded in the grout and behind it in the walls...This is a very dangerous mold and causes heath issues...I know because I used to be one of the professionals that would remove it...anyways there are 3 condition that make this stuff grow like a wildfire...1. Darkness (behind the grout), 2. lack of air movement (again behind the grout) 3. Moisture....the steam clening put mositure to the grout and being pourous in nature allowed it to reach the main body of the mold and now you see the results...The only way now to correct this is to remove the grout, tile and maybe the backer board and sheetrock..clean with a Mirco bactia cleaner ( Microban) and replace all effected material...Trust me I have 5 years of experience in this work
