What should I do about my husband's soft old noodle?

He really likes to have those foam noodles around for swimming and the one from last year is too soft, old, and falling apart. Should I surprise him with a new firmer one or just get a new one for myself and let him keep playing with the old one?

Let him play with his nasty old jacked up noodle. Go get yourself a new one (or six).
