Hayward Max Flo

Bought a Hayward 2speed pump to replace my old 1-speed pump. Comes with NO info on electrical connection. Help
It's the Hayward dual-speed 1.5 HP Max-Flo SP2810X152.
It's for 230V wiring. The box comes with no installation instructions.
When I opened up the motor end for electrical connections. I see 3 slots to connect wires, labeled 1, 2, 3or4, but with no labels for which wires to where. I guess (True?) the 3 slots are for the 2 hot wires (black and red) and the neutral (white) wire? Which color to what number? Please Help
There should be four wires: two hot, one common and one ground. You would use a 3 way switch where up is one speed, down is the other speed and centered is off. You wire the hots to the corresponding hots on the switch, the common to the common and the ground to the ground. You do need to know what wire is what. Consult where you plan to buy the switch, they might be able to tell you the color codes for the four wires.
