My 1993 BMW 525i needs a heater blower replacement. What do i need to do to change it? Where is it?

Sounds like a bearing of it it's going out. It rattles too. Some times it whines. The rattle noise varies in frequency in accord with the blower motor speed.

The blower motor on your model is located behind the dashboard right in the middle. It is not easy to get too at all. If you aren't a do it yourself type leave it to a pro to fix. The blower motor itself can be bought from the dealer or an online vendor such as BavAuto or Pelican Parts. Expect to spend over $200 for the motor alone.
