How Long Should I Wait Before Going Swimming In My Pool After Putting Chlorine In? its been like 4 hours so far that the chlorine been in there so far

someone told my mom we have to wait for 24 hours, sooooooooooo is that true

I work at a swimming pool and whenever we have to "shock" a pool (we put in about 3 gallons of chlorine) we make everyone wait an hour. but if you just opened the pool for the year and you shocked it for the first time 24 hours is probably best
