How can you float in the deep end of the pool?

I know how to swim and all, but a dont know how to float, and the type of float i mean is the one that looks like youre just standing there (floating there) doing nothing but staying in one spot.

To do this there are many different ways, one of the easiest ways is what you said or floating on your back.
To do this you must:
1. Kick your feet around in the water in various motions.(Such As: Bicycle Peddling, Stomping or Scissor Feet.)
2. Determine which kick helps you float the most and move on to the hands.
3. To do the hands motion you must: cup your hands like your begging for water/money/food.
4. Put your cupped hands beside your stomach but not too close (about 1 foot away)
5. Start moving your cupped hands in a figure eight movement in any direction that makes you float more.
6. Now, try adding the kicking and the hands movement together.
7. Once you've master that ↑ Try going faster and slower, and see which one is better for you.
8. Jump in the deep end and try it yourself!

**TIPS AND WARNINGS**:
1.Always start in the shallow end, if there is a case that there is no shallow end, use a life jacket or maybe have a life guard or instructor beside you.
2.Take it sloowly... Dont rush through everything because that wont lead you to success.
