Swim Trainer

I am learning to swim with a personal trainer. Good idea?
I am now 54 years old and swim 3 to 5 hours a week. I am thinking of retiring early because I will be able to make $60.00 Per Hour as a personal swim trainer after I pass several Red Cross programs. Is this a super cool idea or what? I think it rocks!
Your idea is great! I mean, you get paid and stay fit and help others too!
However I think you still need to do more research before you get started. Being a personal trainer involves more than just knowing how to exercise, or in this case, how to swim.
Personal trainers should know the science behind what they are teaching. I don't know what Red Cross programs have to offer (I'm Australian) but all the personal trainers I know have taken a certified course that gives them proper qualifications. You should check whether the Red Cross programs can do this for you.
You need these qualifications because you are responsible for your clients and therefore liable. You would not want unhappy customers to find out that you were not properly qualified to teach them.

Not only recreation or sport swimming is in fact one of the best health workouts. Many people who cannot do aerobic exercises because of various problems such as arthritis, spinal cord injuries and low back pain find swimming very beneficial.

Experts recommend beginners start with 12 – 20 minutes of swimming and once you become more efficient you will find the ability to swim longer.
A water exercise routine should start with a warm up for about 5 – 10 minutes. One of the easiest things to do to warm up is a water walk. Stretching in generally recommended by doctors and fitness trainers to prevent injury and relieve chronic back pain. While stretching is good and beneficial too much can be damaging to the body.
Swimming can help you lose weight, on average a swimmer can burn as many calories an hour as one who runs for six miles in one hour.
Swimming is extremely relaxing more oxygen flows to your muscles this forces you to regulate your breathing, it is a terrific fun sport as well as a great way to stay healthy.
