Why is my brothers job as a navy man much cooler then mine as a EMT/medic?

My brother is in the US navy. He is stationed on the USS Nimitz. He sees nothing. He is a hull technician. He has never seen one day of war.

However I was an EMT/Medic.
I had to perform CPR, Intubate a non-breathing 3 year old who feel into a pool. Help get a trapped teenager out of a car.
You name it, I have seen it and help with it.

However during family celebrations, Christmas, thanksgiving etc...My brother comes out a Hero.
He does nothing heroish. He sits on a boat and cleans bathrooms and helps in the kitchen.
I am NOT trying to lesson his job. However he always get the credit for being a hero.....

I want to be and act humble but I always gets upset when the hail my brother the Hero. What do the call me...
They said all she does is "drive an ambulance".
