Will a wood burning furnace kill black mold?
We burn wood in a furnace that is hooked up to our central air/ht system. One of my children is asthmatic and I would like to know if the heat from the furncace will kill the mold or release it into the air. It goes through the Filter System before it reaches the household air. Do I need a special filter? I've heard black mold can be toxic to people, so Will it be incernated or released? Thank you for your help...

Yes, a wood burning furnace will kill black mold on logs. Generally in a furnace there is a heat exchanger so that the air that is heated is separate from the air that is circulated. we became asthmatic from the smoke of the 2 wood stoves that we used and now have moved south where it is warmer.
